Heather Musgrove and Tricia Wakefeld from Visible Effects with their
awards.
Category : Retail and Small Business
Visible Effects was established and
opened in November 2002 to address the Mildura community’s need
to access cosmetic treatments available in metropolitan centres within
the Mildura area — negating the need to travel for often very quick
treatments.
A market gap was identified by the directors, initially for laser hair
removal. Measurable numbers of Mildura residents were travelling to Melbourne
or Adelaide to access permanent hair reduction.
From this identifiable market gap the rest of this now diverse business
was rapidly developed within 18 months to now cater for an extensive variety
of cosmetic procedures, most of which were formally not available within
400 kilometres of Mildura.
This has meant sourcing professionals and staff training to acquire the
skills needed for these treatments. Visible Effects is now branching further
into the wellness market and has recently moved into a new purpose-built
clinic with day spa to capture the tourist and relaxation market as well
as the corrective cosmetic market.
Visible Effects is now a full Medispa, one of the first in regional Australia
and has its own expanding product range.
The services at Visible Effects are delivered by cosmetic surgeons, registered
nurses and beauty therapists, depending on the treatment being sought
— this makes this business a true professional service business.
Some procedures involve the whole team at various stages of the client’s
treatment plan.
Visible Effects offers cosmetic treatments that range from liposuction
and skin stitching to eyebrow sculpting and massage and everything in
between.
The business aims to create a visible positive change to client appearance
through a treatment plan that they choose to suit their lifestyle, budget
and timeframe..
